ACLT sponsored PMAP Cebu’s 8th Regional Conference

As a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of the leading HR System in the country, ACLT Computing Inc. reaffirmed its commitment as always to the Advancement of Human Resource Management in the country by sponsoring yet another milestone of Personnel Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) Cebu Inc. - the 8th Regional Conference dubbed “HR Resilience &Strength: Triumph over the Seasons” held at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel last July 24-26 2008.

The Regional Conference sponsored by ACLT is a convergence of more than 200 prominent HR Professionals and Practitioners in the Visayan Region including some parts of Mindanao whose ultimate objective is to uplift the resilience and strength of their HR Departments over the Seasons.

The 3-day conference is a special gathering of Cebu’s experienced HR Professionals in partnership with the best resource speakers such as the country’s pride, the World Federation of Personnel Management Associations (WFPMA) President Ernie Espinosa and PMAP’s President Ric Abadesco, Convergy’s COO  Stephen Slade, ITD’s country Head Serely Alcaraz, renowned author Francis Kong and many others.

With the shift of orientation and emphasis from the tangible to the intangible resources of every organization, top Executives begin to invest in the hiring, development and retention of engaged employees where decision making processes and creative ideas reside is the focus of the conference. Gone are the days where millions are invested on infrastructure because at the end of the day it is people that operate them. That the analytics and ability to weigh things still reside in between the “two ears” of employees- brain.

Because of this paradigm shift, HR Practitioners play a vital role to the strategic role of employees in achieving the bottom-line. Processes are now introduced from careful selection and hiring with its corresponding Job descriptions and specific skills and competencies to minimize if not avoid job mismatch that redound to increased productivity. Training and development is another facet vital in the enhancement of once skills and dimension sets. If ones performance goes below what is required HR must send them to training to upkeep them otherwise other modes of interventions must be applied. If one outperforms their level required then corresponding recommendations for rewards or promotion must be done.
